I’ve heard “no” more times than I can count. I’ve applied to over 400 jobs before getting a single response. I’ve had potential clients waste my time, lowball my prices, or take advantage of me. I’ve worked for CEOs of billion-dollar corporations who were verbally abusive and demeaning. I’ve endured harassment and dehumanization in jobs that made me feel small and powerless. The kicker? I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on pipe dreams and miserably - failed business attempts.
But all of those experiences became the driving force behind my decision to become my own boss. I was tired of being undervalued, disrespected, and treated as though I didn’t matter. I wanted freedom—freedom to work on my own terms, to choose who I worked with, and to create a life that aligned with my values.
